Well, seeing as this has begun, i'll pose a question/statement, which some may disagree/agree.
Delays within 30 seconds
Delays occur at stations without people knowing it. To an extent this can ad 10 minutes to a journey, and up to several more, throughout a period of service.
A major fact here is that some passenger feel it appropriate to hold doors open for the empathy of a poor person running toward the train, or for their friends to make it with them.
It's also another fact that numerous people find it possible to board upon a train that is apparently FULL. This relates to doorway crowding, because of the lack of consideration among other passengers within trains.
This bunching up at the doorways, with passengers attempting to board a train, is simply a safety hazard and a driver cannot proceed to close th doors. Over a line, this can be 5 or more minutes of delays, increasing as a train fulfills another service.
Passengers on board feel it necassary to stay within doorway areas, even though it's apparent that there is standing space further into the carriage, and even on some occasions SEATS! You can't complain there are no handles, they're on every seat.
